Dr. Carolyn Facteau’s consulting experience focuses on maximizing talent capabilities to support business strategy, promote strategic organizational change, and meet business objectives in an increasingly competitive marketplace. She has a broad range of experiences in design and implementation of initiatives that support human capital strategy such as leadership assessment, coaching and development, test development and validation, selection and promotion process design, competency modeling, talent assessment and development planning, performance management, and succession management. Over the past 25 years, Carolyn has had the opportunity to work in or consult with numerous private, public, and non-profit organizations and across a variety of industries including banking, retail, distribution, transportation and logistics, energy and utilities, insurance, manufacturing, hospitality, financial services, and health care. Dr. Facteau received her B.S. from Auburn University and her Ph.D. from The University of Tennessee.

With over 25 years of leadership development experience, Carolyn has worked with hundreds of leaders at all levels and across a wide range of industries and sectors. She has designed large-scale leadership development programs which integrate a variety of assessment, coaching, and training approaches to develop high potential leaders. When working one-on-one with leaders as a coach, Carolyn’s approach is focused on first helping leaders gain insight into the personality characteristics, abilities, and experiences they bring to a leadership role and then working with them to understand how to best apply strengths and address development needs to promote success and achieve their personal objectives. She believes that a key element of the coaching process is also knowing the leader’s personal values, goals, and aspirations. Carolyn’s coaching approach is highly collaborative, affirming, and supportive, believing that her role is to facilitate and promote success, but that ultimately the leader must decide what path to take. She works with leaders to identify their personal development goals, think through alternatives, and set specific, measurable objectives. Once established, she supports leaders in executing plans by asking questions and listening, providing resources and ideas, challenging their thinking, acknowledging success, and helping them overcome obstacles they may encounter along the way.

In addition to her consulting activities, Carolyn has authored or co-authored over 100 technical reports, served on expert panels at professional meetings, presented her research at national conferences and published in peer refereed journals. Carolyn is coauthor of a leadership book entitled, “The Challenge of Front-Line Management: Flattened Organizations in the New Economy.”
